Joint ALDA/ School of Dentistry Grant Announcement
The Alabama Dental Association and the University of Alabama School of Dentistry are pleased to announce that three (3) grants will be made available each year for the next three years. These grants are made available through a proposal funded by HRSA, the Health Resources and Services Administration. The grants will be awarded to qualified candidates beginning in 2013.
Each grant provides a substantial annual cash award to a graduating dental student or recent dental graduate in exchange for setting up practice in a designated dentally underserved area for at least four years. Practice locations are chosen by the Joint Grant Committee in consultation with the candidates.
In addition, the successful applicant must commit to and present verification that 30% of their practice involves the treatment of Medicaid patients.
